Start of the NFL season
This years NFL season started off on Thursday, September 20th. The first game would be held at the Giants home stadium in New York and they would play the Washington Redskins. The defending superbowl champions would start the game off looking much like they did at the end of last season.
Thier first drive was for 84 yards and ended with Eli Manning running the football in for a touchdown. The Giants would get out to an early lead with a touchdown and a field goal, but the Redskins couldn’t put much together to get back into the game. The Redskins would score in the second quarter, but wouldn’t put any other points on the board. The Giants would also put six points on the board in the second quarter making the score 13-7 going into halftime. The Second half of the game niether team could get any offense going.
Eli would throw for an interception that the Redskins couldn’t capitalize on due to the pressure of the Giants D. Each team can use this game to see what they need to work on before they play their next game. Hopefully we will see better games from both of these teams.
