Gartor Chomp
It might be hurricane season and Florida is always in the path of a storm, but these hurricanes were more like a Tropical Storm.
The first half was not very exciting. Many people would have expected heisman winner Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators to put big numbers on the board early, but they would struggle in the first half to find their rhythm. This was due to the hurricanes defense in the first half by keeping pressure on Tebow.
Maimi’s offense could not get the ball in the endzone. They would settle for a field goal. The highlight of the first half was a blocked punt by Demps(a Gator) late in the 2nd quarter which resulted in a saftey. Going into halftime the score was 9-3. Gators on top by 6.
The 3rd quarter would go much like the first half. The Gator’s would get a call reversed late in the 3rd quarter. The officals reviewed the play and confirmed that the recievers elbow was in bounds. The Gator’s would score on an option play in the 4th quarter making the score 16-3. Miami’s defense would still put pressure on Timbow in the 2nd half of the game, but their offense was still unable to put anymore points on the board. Tebow would throw a touchdown pass to Murphy with 8:59 left to go.It was a 5 play 95 yard touchdown drive that only took 1:34.
Later in the 4th quarter the Gator’s would have a 52 yard touchdown pass brought back because of penalty. They would settle for a field goal with a little over 30 seconds left in the game. The ending score would be Gator’s 26 and the hurricanes 3.
Tim Tebow would complete 23 of 35 passes for 256 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win against Miami. The 35 pass attemps was the highest in his career. This shows that Tebow is trying to show that not only can he run, but he can also pass the ball.
