Published by bertman at 10:53 pm under NFL Edit This

Aaron Rodger’s has some big shoe’s to fill after replacing former packer QB Brett Farve. All eye’s were on hm to see if he could get the job done. He would have to beat the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings would get on the board first with a field goal. The packers would get things moving early in the 2nd quarter. Rodger’s would throw his first touchdown pass as the Green Bay Packer’s starter. Making the score 7-3 and it would stay that way going into halftime.

The Vikings would block a field goal at the end of the first half giving their offense a boost going into the locker room. The Vikings came out looking better in the second half. The drove the ball about 70 yards down the field, but had to settle for a field goal. Making the score 10-6 Green Bay on top by 4. Green Bay would have a 68 yard touchdown pass called back for a penalty(ineligable reciever down field), but they would score on a 76 yard punt return by #27 Will Blackmon. Making the score 6-17 Packers still on top. Viking’s would score early in the 4th quarter.

The would try for a 2 point conversion, but would fail. The touchdown came on a 15 play 79 yard touchdown pass to Sidney Rice making the score 12-17 Vikings still down by 5. Later in the 4th quarter Ryan Grant would run for 57 yards which would set up a 1 yard run by Aaron Rodger’s making the score 24-12. The Vikings were able to score a touchdown with under 3 minutes to go. The touchdown was ran by Adrian Petterson on a 3 yard run making the score 24-19.

The Vikings would get the ball back with plenty of time to score, but Tarvaris Jackson would get picked off by #20 Bigby. Packers would win 24-19 in a game that would have a totally of 21 penalties. As for Rodger’s it might not have been the best game, but at least he won and showed everyone he could get the job done.
