Shaq Will Retire
Shaq said he would retire in 2010 after his contract is up with the Suns. Shaq has been in the NBA for 16 NBA seasons. He will retire as one of the most dominating big men in the league.Shaq is coming off a bad season and there is no telling how he will perform this season or next.
In shaq’s younger years he was the most dominating big men in the NBA. He was drafted first overall in 1992 by the Orlando Magic. The same year he won Rookie of the Year. He would play 4 seasons with the Magic before being traded to the team that would make his mark in the NBA with the Lakers.
He would spend 8 seasons with the Lakers. He would also win 3 NBA titles in 2000,2001, and 2002. The only other team to 3peat were the Bulls in the 90’s. Along with the 3 NBA titles came 3 NBA Finals MVP’s. His years at LA would be the foundation for his career, but he would add one more thing to his record when he was traded to Miami.Traded to Miami after 8 seasons with the Lakers he would play 3 and half seasons with the Miami Heat.
He would add another title to his record in those three years.Half way through the 07-08 season was traded to the Suns. A playoff team that hopes to make it a step closer with Shaq.
Shaq is also a 14 time All-Star. At the end of last season Shaq’s career stats, he was averaging 2.4 blocks per game, 25.2 points per game , and 11.5 rebounds per game.Even if Shaq doesn’t win a title with the Suns he will still go down as one of the most dominate big men in the league.
