Showdown in the Big D
This Monday Night Football game had the intensity of a playoff game. The Dallas Cowboys took on the Philadelphia Eagles. This game full of unexpected plays, excitement, and pulling closer to records.
In the first quarter the Eagles would score first with a field goal. The Cowboys would answer with a big 72 yard pass to Terrel Owens for a touchdown. That touchdown would put T.O. in 2nd place in TD receptions. He is only behind Jerry Rice who has 197. The Eagles would kick another field goal. Making the score 7-6 Cowboys on top. Felix Jones from the Cowboys would take a kickoff return all the way back for a touchdown. It was a 98 yard kickoff return. The score was 14-6 going into the 2nd quarter.
The Eagles would own the 2nd quarter. They would score a touchdown to open the 2nd quarter. Making the score 14-13. Cowboys still on top by 1. The Eagles would kickoff to Felix Jones who would bobble the ball and get tackled on the 5 yard line. Tony Romo would drop the snap in the endzone and the Eagles would land on the ball for a touchdown. The Eagles would go on top 20-14. The Cowboys would regain the lead with a touchdown pass to T.O.. Making the score 21-20.
Mcnabb would throw a deep bomb to Desean Jackson who would drop the ball before getting in the endzone. The play would be called a fumble and the Eagles would get the ball on the 1 yard line. Brian Westbrook would dive over the line for a touchdown. The Eagles would take the lead again 27-21. The Eagles would kick a field goal. Putting the Eagles up by 9 points. The Cowboys would answer back with a field goal of their own to make the score 30-24 going into halftime. The 54 points the two teams scored was the second highest in Monday Night Football history.
In the 3rd quarter the Eagles would not score anything. The Cowboys would score a touchdown. Making the score 31-30 Cowboys on top. The 4th quarter the Eagles would score on a Brian Westbrook touchdown. Putting the Eagles on top again 37-31. The Cowboys would not stay down. The would kick a field goal pulling them with in 3 points of the lead. They would score another touchdown putting them on top by 4. The Eagles would get the ball back with 2 minutes left put was unable to get the ball in the endzone.
This was a very intense game with 7 lead changes. A preview of what the NFC playoffs will be like. Neither team gave up, but the Cowboys were able to over come their difficulties and come out with a win. These two teams will play again in the last game of the regular season. This was one hell of a Monday Night Football game.
