Yankee Stadium Say’s Goodbye’s, but NOT to Roger Clemens or Joe Torre

Published by bertman under MLB Edit This

Sunday the New York Yankees said goodbye to the their home for more than 85 years. The “House That Ruth Built” mentioned names like Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Reggie Jackson, Willie Randolph, Paul O’Neill, Mickey Mantle, Etc. and even as Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera said goodbye to the stadium their was 1 players name that was not mentioned at all. Who you ask? That’s right, Roger Clemens.

Roger Clemens was mentioned in the Mitchell Report, but so was other Yankee players that were mentioned in the Goodbye video. So why was Clemens not mentioned? I’m not sure, but he should have been. Yeah so what if he did “Steroids” a lot of people did. It doesn’t mean that he didn’t do anything for that team. He did a lot for that team and should have at least been mentioned once.

Another person that was not mentioned was Joe Torre. Joe Torre wasn’t mentioned in the Mitchell Report. He had lead that team into 12 post season and 3 World Series in a row, which they won all three, and they couldn’t mention his name one time.

I get it. It was supposed to be a time of celebration for Yankee players and their fans. A celebration of all the good times that that stadium had brought to them. They did just that. They don’t mention Torre because he is no longer with the team and Clemens because he did “Steroids”, but the thing is is that these two people were Yankees and as Yankees they did want Yankees are supposed to do, Win. And for that they should have been mentioned.
