Mets & Brewers Tied For The NL Wildcard
After tonights game the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers are tied for the NL Wildcard. With only 4 games left the race to play in October is really heating up in the NL Wildcard.
C.C Sabathia had a dominating performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 7 innings with 11 strike outs. He only gave up one run in his 7 innings of work. This is a good sign for the Brewers because they are going to need Sabathia to pitch well every game he starts to stay in the NL Wildcard race.
The New York Mets lost to the Chicago Cubs in an extra inning game that would make the Mets and Brewers tied for the NL Wildcard. Carlos Delgado would hit a grand slam in the 3rd inning to put the Mets up 5-1. They would be unable to hold onto the lead and would lose in the 10th inning.
This does not look good for the Mets who are showing signs of collapsing like they did last year. I think now that the Brewers are tied for the NL Wildcard that they will play even harder to beat out the Mets for the spot. This will be an interesting race to watch.
