First Playoff Win!
I am talking about the Tampa Bay Rays who for the first time in time history has made it to the playoffs and not only have they made it to the playoffs they win their first game.
It don’t sound like a big deal, but for Tampa Bay Ray fans it is a huge deal. For a team that’s been in the MLB for 11 years and has never made the playoffs and the best they have ever finished was 4th in their division(which by the way they won) and now they start the ALDS with a win at home.
It was a close game the Rays only winning by two runs, but it was a spectacular game for Evan Longoria who went 3-3 with 2 homeruns in his first playoff game. Longoria who many think will win Rookie of the Year is making is stamp in the playoff, at least for the first game anyways.
James Shields the starting pitcher for the Rays went 6.1 innings giving up 3 runs and striking out 4 batters. Don’t the best start, but Tampa’s bullpin did a great job in closing the game.
I’m not going to take anything away from the Chicago White Sox. They have been stretched out lately playing 3 games against three different teams and having to win all of them can take a lot out of a team. I still think the Rays will win the series, but I think the White Sox will be heard from at least one game.
