Quick Run Down Of Sunday Sports

Published by bertman at 8:56 pm under MLB, NASCAR, NFL Edit This

I’m going to do a quick run down of Sunday sports. There is always a lot of sports news going down on Sunday’s and I don’t feel like picking just one game so I thought I would mention a couple of them.

NASCAR Sprint Cups Series

Tony Stewart gets his first win in Talladega. It was a close finish on the last lap Regan Smith went for the pass on Tony Stewart, but went below the yellow line while he passed Stewart. This is not aloud in racing so instead of Smith winning the race or even finishing second he finished 18. Jimmie Johnson still leads in the points for the Cup Chase. There was also a 11 car wreck with 14 laps to go.

MLB

The Tampa Bay Rays played their third game against the Chicago White Sox. The Rays were looking for the sweep, but fell short. The White Sox live to play another day.

The Philadelphia Phillies took on the Milwaukee Brewers. The Phillies would end the series with their win and move on the play the Dodgers in the NLCS. Final score 6-2

The Boston Red Sox are going to be taken on the LA Angels. This is the third game in their series as well. The Red Sox lead right now in the third inning 3-1. If Boston holds on to the lead the will win the series and move on to the ALCS.

NFL

The NFL was great like it is every Sunday. The Tennessee Titans would defeat the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Giants would defeat the Seattle Seahawks to stay undefeated. The New England Patriots would struggle against the San Francisco 49ers but finally get things going and hold on for the win. The Atlanta Falcons would beat the Green Bay Packers by a field goal. The Carolina Panthers would crush the Kansas City Chiefs 34-0. The Indianapolis Colts came from way back in the fourth quarter to beat the Houston Texans.

Well thats a quick run down some sports from Sunday.
