The Dodgers Weeble Wobble But Haven’t Fell Down….Yet

Published by bertman under MLB Edit This

With the Dodgers on the brink of elimination after giving up 4 runs to the Phillies in the 8th inning in game 4 of the LCS. Its now do or die for the blue crew.

The bullpin blew it. It’s that simple. Giving up a 2-run homerun to a pinch hitter and then two batters later gave up another 2-run homer is not acceptable pitching for the playoffs and is definitely in the formula for winning.

Even though the Dodgers are now down 3-1 in the series I still think that they can fight themselves out of this hole and prevail over the Phillies.

The first test and a test they have to pass is jump on Phillies game 5 starting pitcher Cole Hamels. Hamels is the Phillies best pitcher(in my opinion) and the Dodgers are going to have to beat him once if not twice.

Test 2 will be to keep the lead. The bullpin is going to have to step up and perform like a playoff bullpin has to in order to stay alive. They can’t give up homeruns to pinch hitters.

Test 3 is put runs on the board. The Dodgers are normally good at doing this, but with their bullpin blowing lead they will need more runs than usual.

If the Dodgers can pass these 3 test I have a feeling they will jump back into this series and have avery good chance at winning it.

If they don’t…. Well then there is always next season.
