Published by bertman at 11:48 pm under MLB Edit This

After losing a close game in game one of the World Series the Rays come in and win game 2. James Shields is the winning pitcher going 5 2/3 innings and didn’t give up a run.

The Rays would not hit a homerun this game instead they were able to manufacture runs and win the game. 4 Rays would account for an RBI each.(Upton, Longoria, Pena, Bartlett). David price would come in in the 7th inning and pitch 2 1/3 innings. He allowed 2 runs(1 a HR) and strikeout 2.

The Phillies were able to get runners on base, but unable to drive them in when it counted. The Bats for the Phillies haven’t woken up in this series. Jimmy Rollins went 0-5, Pat Burrell went 0-3, and their only runs came late in the game and wasn’t enough to put the Phillies on top.

Game 3 will be played in Philadelphia on Saturday October 25th. Starting pitchers will be Matt Garza for the Tampa Bay Rays and Jamie Moyer for the Philadelphia Phillies.
