Published by bertman under Boxing Edit This

2 months after Oscar Diaz was knocked into a coma by Delvin Rodriguez in the 10th round of their fight, Diaz is awake and breathing on his own. Diaz, who needed emergency brian surgery 2 months ago, has been updated to stable condition.

Oscar Diaz is only 25 with a 26-3 record with 12 KO’s. The fight was being televised on ESPN2 when Diaz went down in the 10th round.

Delvin Rodriguez had said he had been worried the whole time hoping that Diaz would come out of the coma.

Being a fan of the sport of boxing I’m surprised that more people don’t get knocked into coma’s. I’m glad to see Diaz is doing fine now and his recovery is looking better.
